Reformation Jeans - Nothing gets us hotter than saving water

My biggest dream is to bring sustainable fashion to everyone. This year, we decided to tackle the worst polluting type of clothing - denim - and create more affordable pieces to reach more people. So we mashed it together and voila – Reformation Jeans. 450 million pairs of jeans are sold in the US each year. To make fabric for one pair, 1,500 gallons of water is needed. Oh and don’t forget water waste from dyeing and washing, which uses 1.3 million tons of chemicals and puts polluted water back in the environment. To combat this, we made jeans from deadstock and super sustainable fabrics. On average one Ref Jean saves 1,468 gallons of water compared to a conventional pair. We already purchase offsets to bring our water footprint to 0, but for Ref Jeans we launched The Wet Program - for every jean you buy, we will clean a thousand gallons of water with the help of BEF and the National Forest Foundation. xx Yael
